baby update- week 35 with interesting news and belly pics!

* sorry this is a day late! I had a very long day with dr appointments and testing yesterday*

How far along? 35 weeks and 5 days

How big is baby? I don't know how much he actually weighs but his thigh was HUGE on the screen yesterday..if that tells ya anything. Baby Center says he should be 18 inches long and a little over 5 pounds. I would say that's accurate if you asked my pelvis and hips. Ouch.

Gender? A BOY!! His name is Beckett Easton as a first and middle name.

Weight gain? Gained one pound

Due Date?  We are no longer having a September baby according to our doctors. As of yesterday afternoon I am 1 cm dilated and they are going to be inducing me within the next week and a half or so. Just a little bit more till this pregnancy madness is over and the real fun begins!

Symptoms? I have a very high tolerance to pain. I've been through more surgeries in my life then I would like to recall. I know pain very well and handle it very well. Right now however, I'm 100% in pain 100% of the time. My hips and pelvis are now tender to the touch and when I stand up my muscles all around them shiver and spasm. Walking for a long period of time is out of the question however so is sitting, laying or resting in any position in general. Makes things very complicated. My right foot is beyond swollen and is taking over my toes but my left foot is normal and fine. My right leg is a alittle swollen as well but not as bad as it was a few weeks ago. My hands have taken on carpel tunnel as if their existence depended on it, holy cow are they tender. Even the hand I don't have much feeling in due to a surgery is feeling discomfort. Other then that, I am good and have no other symptoms.

Food cravings? Luckily Beckett has dropped significantly and is no longer taking up residence in my rib cage. Thank you child! I can eat a tiny bit more but not really. I tried actually cooking dinner last week and when husband walked in the door he found me in the kitchen trying not to throw up in the sink. It's not so much the smells anymore it's just the cooking it all. Prepping this, cutting that, cooking it this way and that way. It's sensory overload. Beckett needs to come soon since we don't have many inexpensive food choices around here and our wallet is taking a beating from the to go menu.

Sleep? It's very very hard for me to find a good position to sleep in because of my hips and pelvis. I cried the other night and I'm sure it was partly from pain but a lot more from general frustration and vulnerability. I feel helpless and I don't like feeling that way in anything but especially when it's your own body. Rolling over is by far the hardest part and what hurts the most. If I am sleeping and I roll over I'm instantly awake for a few min before my body settles and I can go back to sleep. Once I'm in a good position though I'm down for the count and I generally don't move again come the morning. Which brings it's own set of sore discomforts. Legs cramps are gone thank goodness, I only had 2 or 3 this whole time. I hope they stay away I hate leg cramps more then anything. I'm getting a lot of sleep though I woke up at 10am which I'm pretty sure is a record for me. I never sleep this late.

Movement? Beckett is making it very well known he wants out, the kid is running out of precious real estate! However so am I :( I no longer am growing out (the front that is I never actually grew out the sides) I am now growing down. So his rolls and tumbles are more of a pushing my insides around and making space for himself. He also hates having anything placed on him, he will push it off instantly. Like the non stress test readers.

Beckett on the web: Beckett has his own little friends and family blog so you can check it out and leave him some love if you want to! You can see it at this link Little Mast

Other Stuff? Now we just wait. Hopefully by my next Dr. appointment I will have the actual induce date and we will be able to go from there with planning things around the house or having my mom fly up. Until then it appears as if Beckett is on his own schedule so we will just see what he gets himself into. Husband and I are staying very neutral about it all because honestly, what can we do? It's out of our hands now and whatever will happen will just happen.

Belly pics:
Here we are at the end of 34 weeks and beginning of 35 weeks! As you can see I'm not carrying on the sides at all! It also never fails that there is one husky or another at my feet when I take these pics. It's like they know!
