Baby update: week 38 and lets have a baby on labor day!

How far along? 38 weeks and 5 days

How big is baby? We have a chunker on our hands! Beckett is well over 7 lbs now which is great being he was so severely underweight for a few months. 

Gender? A BOY!! His name is Beckett Easton as a first and middle name. 

Weight gain? My doctor is calling it water retention...I'm just able to stare at the super scary number. Folks this is a never before seen scary scary number. I can't/won't/refuse to share it but it's scary. Trust me. 

Due Date? This is super exciting cause we finally have a date... LABOR DAY! Wish I was kidding, yes we are being induced on labor day which certainly sounds like a cruel pregnant lady joke. We check into the hospital on Monday to get the ball rolling and to make sure the doctors are 100% in control of the entire situation. Seeing how Beckett likes to take control of most everything they try to do to him/for him I don't think he will like this plan much but that's tough. Mom does :) 

Symptoms? I'm sure most people reading this have either been pregnant or been around one. Big feet. Big hands. Creaks and moans. Being mistaken for Grandma when walking from behind. That about sums it all up. 

Sleep? I've been so lucky. Thank you baby sleep gods, thaaaaa-nk youuuuu! I get up to go to the bathroom and I wake up when I roll over but thank goodness that normally takes all my energy and I pass out all over again. It's a lovely cycle. 

Movement? This little booger makes everything harder then it needs to be let me tell you. Beckett can turn any 20 min standard non stress test into a 45 min session of the nurse pleading with him to stop being a jumping bean who kicks off the monitors and straps or has hiccups for 15 of the 20 min. Stinker. Other then that he is pretty calm and quiet most the time and it's easy to forget he is there.

Other Stuff:

Besides checking into the hospital in 5 days and our lives changing for the next 80 years as we know it I have to say everything else is pretty well boring. The house is clean. The carpets have been professionally washed and the couches have been steamed. The nursery is complete as you saw from yesterdays post  or at least now can if you follow that link. We love it. Only thing we need now is Mr. Beckett and that will come sooner then we know :) Oh I do know someone else who can't wait for B to get here.... 

but only because he is tired of not getting my full lap to himself these days :)
